Wuryati Morris joined Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP) in November 2022 as a program officer for the Environment domain. Wuryati is responsible for developing and managing the Philanthropies’ environmental grantmaking efforts in Asia Pacific.
Before joining MACP, Wuryati spent the last five years serving as the Walton Family Foundation’s in-country program advisor for Indonesia. In that role, she supported a sustainable fisheries grant making program. Prior to that, she consulted for several programs in Indonesia including the SAWIT challenge, a partnership to identify and foster breakthrough ideas that help smallholder farmers produce palm oil sustainably, and the Green Economic Growth for Papua Provinces Program which focuses on the contribution of overall wealth being created in the Papuan economy from community-based green commodities, including the total economic value of the value chains, the role of MSMEs and private and public sector support.
Before moving back to Indonesia, she lived in the US, earning her bachelor’s degree in economics from Swarthmore College and then working on the Joint Economic Committee on Capitol Hill and for DAI Global LLC.
