Maria Clemencia is a political scientist with over 16 years of experience working on public policy analysis, environmental management and sustainable development. Her areas of expertise have been centered on the analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of public policies and the development of green growth, deforestation control, nature tourism and bioeconomy initiatives in rural areas of Colombia.
Prior to joining CLUA, Maria Clemencia worked with international cooperation at the Global Green Institute, as well as for several national institutions such as the National Planning Department, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Treasury and Public Credit, amongst others. She has a degree in political science from Los Andes University in Colombia, a and Master’s Degree in Public Policy, with an emphasis in economic policy, a Master’s in Environmental Management and Development from the Crawford School of Public Policy of the Australian National University.
