Lucas is the Forests, People, Climate (FPC) Communications Officer. Lucas has over 10 years’ experience developing and leading strategic communications on climate change and tropical forests, supporting the communications efforts of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and building partnerships between organizations and with donors.
Prior to joining CLUA, Lucas was the communications coordinator for the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities, worked with international organizations including the German Cooperation for Sustainable Development (GIZ) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and served as a communications officer with the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment.
Lucas holds a postgraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Brasilia and a bachelor’s degree in Social Communications and Journalism from the Higher Education Institute of Brasilia.
