Julia Plume
Grants Manager
Climate and Land Use Alliance
Julia comes to CLUA from the Internet Society Foundation (ISF) where she served as the Grants Manager. In her role with ISF, Julia supported grantmaking operations across the foundation, leading to the adoption of alternative and more equitable grantee reporting practices, and streamlined processes across the foundation’s programs and operations.
Prior to ISF, Julia has held positions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in New Zealand, US Department of State, and a variety of project management roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors throughout her career.
Julia is committed to leading and supporting organizations to embrace diverse practices and alternative ways of working, to reduce the power gap between funders and grantees, and to continually work towards a trust-based, human-centered approach to grant-making.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Otago, New Zealand. She lives in San Antonio, TX with her family, and in her spare time works on the never-ending renovation projects on her 86 year-old home.
