Fernanda has ten years’ experience on just, sustainable development.
She joined CLUA in 2024 as Director of Engagement for Forests, People, Climate (FPC), a collaborative of philanthropic donors, civil society, and community-based organizations. CLUA hosts FPC and coordinates with other grant makers to ensure funding through FPC reaches those seeking to halt and reverse tropical deforestation while supporting just, sustainable development.
Before joining CLUA, Fernanda worked at WRI Brasil, where she led and contributed to the institute’s communication and engagement efforts across cities, forests, and climate programs.
During her time at WRI, Fernanda also served as interim executive director, leading multi-stakeholder engagement at both national and international levels to influence public policy and drive successful project implementation. She co-led and supported initiatives to foster and scale a just transition to a low-carbon economy in both the Amazon region and in Brazil.
Fernanda holds a BA in Social Communications from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, and a specialization in Marketing. She enjoys working on global and multicultural environments and contributing to advancing solutions to climate change. Passionate about nature, she loves gardening and hiking in the mountains.
